In addition to our standard offerings of custom frames, we are privileged to be one of only two Seattle frame shops offering closed-corner frames by San Diego-based Oxford Hill Frames. Closed corner frames are known for a more tailored, elevated look. Oxford Hill's top-tier craftsmanship highlights the natural beauty of the wood grain, with simple yet elegant details seen in their various corner joining methods.
From the Oxford Hill Frames website:
Our company, Oxford Hill Frames, has been creating custom handcrafted hardwood picture frames for art galleries and frame shops since 2008. Each wood frame is made by hand in the tradition of fine furniture that is meant to last for generations.
Oxford Hill Frames is an American company, founded in a workshop in San Diego, California by David Dann. He is a 30-year veteran of the framing industry and a luthier. He is a true craftsman, committed to doing exceptional work. Each picture frame is a closed-corner, finished product ready to frame.
This particular frame was built last year to showcase a breathtaking original painting by Ukrainian artist Oleh Dron. It's crafted from solid wenge wood and features a rounded, spline-joint corner with full inlay.
