About the artist:
"Hi, I’m Nicole Janzen, a needle-felt artist who finds endless joy in working with
natural wool fibers. Using hand-dyed wool roving and raw sheep’s wool, I create
richly textured, multi-dimensional pieces that reflect the beauty of the Pacific
Northwest. My work incorporates reclaimed materials, unraveled wool garments,
and found natural elements that add depth and character. A signature touch of
metallic sheen enhances each piece, while the merino wool backing ensures
everything remains 100% natural.
Beyond needle-felting, I’m a multi-media artist specializing in continuous-line sketches and pastels. Nearly two years ago, I began a cherished daily practice of keeping a pictorial calendar, capturing life’s moments one sketch at a time. Originally from British Columbia, I’ve called Seattle home for 12 years. I’m a semi-retired teacher, avid hiker, gardener, traveler, and a delighted new grandma!"
